The above picture was taken during our organised Halliwell walk about in partnership with the Halliwell Neighbourhood management 12/03/2016. This event brought local residents of Halliwell ward Bolton and their ward councillors together to have a walk about the ward and identify areas of interest and where local residents can contribute their skills and passions to support in developing the ward using the ABCD principle of community development. You can see Mavis Bates a local resident passionately talking about the Bolton steam Museum, while councillor LindaThomas (lady with glasses) the ward councillor listened keenly.
The above picture is the view of the Steam museum, the local residents agreed that the museum needed a sign telling the local resident and the general public that it is a museum. Which is a step towards public awareness.
After several meetings and team effort from BCDP , the Museum team, the Neighbourhood management team and local residents and local ward councillors, we can gladly say the display sign has now been designed and installed.
We like to give a big thanks to all those who worked hard to make it a reality.
Now we will be moving to the next phase of organising local events to encourage cross generational activities between the museum and the community. Please if you are interested in supporting give us a shout using the contact form on this website.
